Boys Head Counselor – Summer Camp
Camp Lakota is seeking a dedicated Boys Head Counselor to oversee 75-100 male campers and 20-40 staff members in a fast-paced, outdoor summer camp environment. As the lead male staff member on Boys Camp, you will be responsible for overseeing all of our different age groups, ensuring a fun and safe experience for all campers, and serving as the primary point of contact for parents under our Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive experience of campers at all times.
- Engagement: Actively participate in and encourage involvement in all camp activities, including swimming, sports, arts, and more.
- Leadership: Serve as a role model for campers and staff, demonstrating enthusiasm, empathy, and responsibility.
- Support: Foster social development, confidence, and independence among campers and staff.
- Collaboration: Work closely with fellow staff members to create a seamless and fun camp experience.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with camp leadership and parents regarding camper progress, concerns, and overall camp experience.
- Safety: Enforce all camp policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure a secure environment.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about working with children.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic camp setting.
- Flexible and adaptable to the fast-paced camp environment.
- Previous experience in childcare, camp counseling, or youth leadership is preferred but not required.
