Camp Laurel South, among the most prestigious, well-respected camps in the country, is seeking qualified Baseball Counselors for the summer of 2025. We offer quality instruction designed to allow children to participate in activities they love, while also providing opportunities to explore new interests. Your primary goal is to create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters skill development, teamwork, and a love for the sport of baseball.
Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning and Instruction:
- Incorporate fundamental baseball techniques, rules, and strategies into lesson activities.
- Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Skill Development:
- Assess the skill levels of campers and provide individualized instruction to help them improve their baseball abilities.
- Focus on developing basic and advanced baseball skills, including batting stance, pitching form, fielding techniques, and game strategies.
Safety and Equipment Management:
- Ensure a safe and organized baseball environment.
- Monitor the use and condition of baseball equipment, reporting any issues and ensuring proper storage.
Teamwork and Sportsmanship:
- Promote teamwork and sportsmanship among campers through collaborative drills, scrimmages, and friendly competitions.
- Encourage a positive and supportive atmosphere where campers respect each other and their coaches.
Adaptability:
- Be flexible and adaptable to accommodate campers with varying skill levels and learning styles.
- Adjust lesson plans as needed based on camper feedback and progress.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, especially in baseball, preferred.
- Knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with campers of different ages and skill levels.
Duration: We are looking for a two-month commitment from June 10th - August 11th. We offer room and board for the duration of employment at camp.
