Summary
As a Unit Leader at Camp Matoaka, you will play a vital role in guiding and inspiring our campers and staff throughout the summer and ensuring their safety and well-being. This position is essential in creating the magical summer experience that Camp Matoaka is known for, promoting personal growth and community spirit.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise 45-50 campers, and 15 staff members in your age group.
- Foster positive relationships with campers, encouraging their personal growth and teamwork skills.
- Manage camper behavior effectively, using appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to create engaging and diverse programming.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding camper progress and experiences.
- Participate in staff training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge related to camp leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting.
- Strong understanding of behavior management techniques.
- Ability to educate and inspire young minds through creative programming.
- Previous camp experience is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with campers, parents, and staff members.
