Camp Micah Hiking Counselor Job Description
Direct Supervisors: Unit Leader and Hiking Team Leader
Food and housing provided: June 15 - August 11, 2025
Must be 21 years old with a valid drivers license
Hiking/Trip Responsibilities
- Assist in leading day/overnight hiking trips for campers of ages 7-15 years old
- Assist with food preparation on overnight trips
- Ensure proper care and storage of tripping supplies and equipment
Bunk Responsibilities:
- Create a cohesive bunk unity
- Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the bunk
- Provide opportunities for bunk and individual discussions
- Supervise campers’ health needs and eating habits
- Ensure that campers apply sunscreen and bug spray on a regular basis (as needed)
- At all times, know the whereabouts and activities of your bunk’s campers
- When on duty at night, be in bunk at all times
General Responsibilities:
- Be a role model to campers and other staff (i.e. cleanliness, punctuality, sharing clean-up and chores, sportsmanship, and table manners)
- Guide campers in participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities
- Participate in the Camp Community
- Abide by all policies set forth in the Camp Micah staff handbook
- Supervise and/or help organize bunk, unit, all camp activities and special events (Understand that some activity leaders will be assigned to different bunks or units other then their own when needed)
- Responsible for being on time
- Submit all required reports and paperwork on time
- Be creative and fun!

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $3,000.00 - $3,500.00 per year
