As a General Outdoor Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our campground. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring our guests have a safe, clean, and enjoyable stay. Responsibilities:
- Perform basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs, painting, staining, and power washing.
- Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of campground buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of campground grounds, including trash collection, landscaping, and general upkeep.
- Ensure the proper functioning of utilities provided to guests and the equipment and resources our team relies on.
- Perform maintenance tasks such as unclogging toilets, repairing or replacing aging infrastructure, and making mechanical repairs to equipment.
- Regularly clean and maintain the swimming pool, lawn mowing, weed eating, landscaping, garbage pick-up, and other campground equipment upkeep.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing equipment and installation.
- Basic knowledge of chemical properties, proper handling, storage, and usage.
- Familiarity with landscaping and the safe operation of landscaping equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, lift and carry 25 pounds occasionally, and 10 pounds regularly.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance frequently.
- Long periods of standing and the ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb.
- Must be able to operate various loud and vibrating maintenance tools and equipment.
- Able to work indoors and outdoors and in various weather conditions.
Additional Information:
This position is seasonal because the campground is only open from May 1 - October 31. Candidates must be able to work weekends and holidays.
