Job Overview
Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Manager, will manage and implement specific fundraising outreach programs designed to increase corporate support through mission-aligned funding; sponsorships; and special events.
The individual will play a key role in raising general operating and project specific funds from corporations. Success for the individual in this position will be based on managing the fundraising process to generate five and six figure contributions of corporate support; and special events to meet annual fiscal expectations. This job requires a dynamic, motivated, energetic, and personable individual with a go-getter attitude and a drive to meet and exceed budgetary fundraising goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a key contributor to the development of a successful fundraising strategic plan and work closely with the Chief Development Officer. Assist in managing and implementing the plan.
- Based on the fundraising plan, develop and prioritize prospect lists for corporate partnerships; cultivate and solicit support; write proposals; and meet deadlines.
- Develop a list of prospective new donors by identifying corporations with capacity and propensity to give. Work with the appropriate staff and event / board volunteers to connect high level corporate prospects across funding opportunities.
- Manage a portfolio of over 50 corporate partners, new and returning, accounting for more than $1million of CSG’s annual revenue goals.
- Oversight and management of corporate partner recruitment and cultivation events, including those specific to event sponsorships.
- Generate support through personal contact, meetings, and written and verbal correspondence.
- Develop an effective system for departmental reporting and analysis, with support from Database Manager, in order to respond promptly to management queries with appropriate and accurate information.
- Coordinate with other departments on donor activities, programs and campaigns, such as Warrior Yoga, Spring events, and Farm Table.
- Oversees sponsor benefit fulfilment, invoicing, and payment collection, collecting materials from partners as needed in a timely manner to properly and fully execute benefits.
- Supports the Development team by participating in necessary committee meetings for all internal fundraising events.
- Work with Marketing Department to create marketing needs for donor engagement, solicitation and stewardship.
- Develop and execute on donor engagement plans, including recognition, stewardship and fulfillment reporting.
