- Reports To: Camp Director
Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager will have the practical knowledge and personal commitment to deliver a high quality and safe camp experience for Maine children facing economic hardship by managing and performing short- and long-term building and grounds projects to successful completion.
This new role is a year-round, salaried position with benefits. The Facilities Manager has overall responsibility for all facilities and operations support including buildings, equipment, and grounds. Because we are a seasonal business, the demands, responsibilities, and hours change with the seasons. During the summer camp season roughly from May through August, the emphasis will be on management: seasonal opening of the property, supervising, planning, and coordinating, including physical involvement in facility-related work. The summer camp workload will be 5-6 days per week averaging 50-55 hours per week, and it includes some weekends and evenings. During the “retreat season,” roughly mid-August through October, when there are guests on site you may be responsible for hosting and supporting weekend groups and the role will be more hands-on in the physical care and maintenance of the facility (averaging 40 hrs/week). During the winter months “off-season,” we expect the role to take 4-5 days per week averaging around 32 hours per week. Over the course of an entire year, we envision the time to break down to approximately 25% management-related, 65% hands-on facility work, and 10% retreat hosting.
