Summer Camp Activity Assistant
Essential duties:
1. Provide support services to camp for dishwashing, janitorial tasks, grounds work, maintenance, camp photography, activity set up/tear down, and occasional administrative duties.
2. Support Cabin Counselors by assisting with the daily supervision of children during cabin time, recreational activity, overnights, mealtimes, out-of-camp trips as well as other planned CT events and activities.
3. Assist with the planning, leading, and engagement of campers in recreational activities, skits games, songs, activities, and other planned events as part of daily camp living.
4. Lead by example acting as a positive role model of the OLVC values of Respect, Trust, Integrity Passion, Teamwork, and Accountability and Camp Turner’s of Hospitality, Stewardship, Social Justice, Personal Growth, and Recreation.
5. Proper execution, reporting and communication of CT and OLVC emergency procedures, incident and accident reporting, and safety guidelines.
6. Ability to adequately discharge their assigned duties according to policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and requirements set forth by CT, OLVC, American Camp Association (ACA), New York State (NYS), and local Department of Health (DOH) pertaining to overnight operation of children’s camps.
7. Attend, participate and successfully complete all summer camp training sessions and CT staff meetings as scheduled.
8. Assist with the care, maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of all CT facilities and equipment.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 17 years of age or has completed the Counselor in Training (CIT)
2. Must be willing to live on site for duration of summer season, with room and board provided.
