Camp Veritans is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Arts Director to lead our vibrant arts program this summer!
About the Role:
As Arts Director, you'll play a vital role in nurturing campers' creativity and fostering their love for the arts. You'll oversee a team of Arts Specialists, plan and execute a comprehensive arts curriculum for campers aged 3-15, and ensure a fun and enriching camp experience for all. Arts includes activities like arts and crafts, ceramics, drama, cooking and more.
Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Plan and implement a diverse and age-appropriate arts and crafts curriculum for campers across various age groups (3-15 years old).
- Specialist Supervision: Lead and oversee a team of Arts Specialists, providing ongoing training and ensuring consistent program delivery.
- Material Management: Order, maintain, and ensure proper storage of art supplies and equipment.
- Safety and Supervision: Prioritize the safety and well-being of campers within the arts program, enforcing safety protocols and maintaining a positive environment.
- Camp Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Unit Leaders and other staff to ensure a seamless camp experience for all.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with children in an arts education or camp setting.
- Strong knowledge of various art forms (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for creativity and fostering a love for the arts in children.
Schedule:
- Camp runs from June 24th to August 15th (closed July 4th).
- All staff members are required to attend three pre-camp orientation days and potentially 1-2 pre-camp set-up days (exact dates to be confirmed).
