Day Camp Unit Leader (Summer Position)

Perfect job for a teacher or a parent who doesn't work in the summer! Must be a college graduate.

This is an leadership/admin position. You will lead/oversee a unit (age group) which is comprised of a few bunks with counselors assigned to each bunk.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Unit Leader to oversee and coordinate activities for children at our Northern New Jersey Day Camp. The ideal candidate will have a background in managing group/leadership experience and passion for working with adults, counselors and children and creating a fun, safe and educational environment.

Duties
- Plan and implement engaging activities for camp attendees inconjuction with Director of Specialty Areas
- Supervise counselors, bunks and children during camp hours to ensure their safety and well-being
- Provide guidance and support to camp counselors and campers
- Oversee daily schedules and routines (Directors make the schedules)
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding camp activities and updates
- Ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all camp participants

-Attend events on a weekend or in the evening, a few times during the summer. (Requested but not required unless it's a staff meeting)

Experience
- Previous experience in early childhood education, childcare, or tutoring is preferred
- Certification in first aid/CPR is a plus, but not required
- Experience working with children in various settings such as classrooms, sports coaching, or special education is beneficial
- Ability to educate and engage children in a camp setting

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
