The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a leadership visionary overseeing all financial aspects of a $115 Million domestic and internationally focused nonprofit including : accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, compliance, and strategic financial planning. The CFO will ensure the organization operates efficiently managing all financial functions within a diverse funding base.

Who You'll Work With :
Reporting to the President / CEO
Supervise a team of 12 with direct supervision of the Director of Finance and the Director Financial Planning and Analysis
Serve as a member of, and frequently collaborate with, the Executive Leadership Team. This includes the Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Advancement Officer, and three EVPs
Key Responsibilities :
Organizational Leadership
Serve on the Executive Leadership Team, supporting implementation and ongoing analyses associated with the organization's strategic plan, collaborating with the team to develop long-term financial strategies and assess the financial feasibility of new initiatives
Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of belonging, continuous improvement, and professional development
Develop and refine processes and systems to ensure that the CTFK team has access to timely and accurate information organization-wide, enabling real-time analyses and effective decision making
Collaborate closely with the CEO and Chief Advancement Officer to set realistic and achievable fundraising goals to ensure that financial strategies effectively support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability
Regularly present financial information and updates to the Board of Directors as directed by the President / CEO, and per organization By-Laws to ensure all Board members clearly understand the organization's strategy and financial health
Financial Strategy and Planning
Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with program managers and other stakeholders to develop and approve realistic and achievable short and long-term program and grant budgets
Oversee the financial aspects of a robust international and domestic grant portfolio, ensuring accurate budgeting and strict adherence to funding requirements; managing funds post-award to align with donor stipulations
Monitor ongoing financial performance against budgets and provide regular updates and analysis to the President / CEO and relevant team members
Manage and implement investment strategies, ensuring they align with the organization's objectives and market trends
Build and maintain business models and forecasting tools that allow for robust scenario planning and real-time decision making
Foster productive collaboration across regions globally in partnership with these teams and individuals, ensuring effective real time reporting and support
Accounting, Audit and Operations :
Oversee financial reviews, audits, and tax filings across the c3 and c4 entities, ensuring compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements (providing financial data and insights to donors for grants), the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) standards, and all other relevant laws and regulations; evaluate and implement risk-mitigation strategies as needed
Ensure the accuracy of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable & receivable, payroll, and in all financial operating systems; manage and produce accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies for accounting manuals and financial reports (including GAAP), payroll, business operations and physical infrastructure (lease and rental agreements) and other organizational policies
Manage relationships with external partners such as banks and any financial service providers
Required Skills and Experience :
Minimum of ten years leading the finance function at a complex global nonprofit organization with multiple divisions and entities
Experience overseeing complex multi-layered financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with strong knowledge of financial data analysis and performance / operation metrics
Strong accounting and operational skills, with a track record of clean audits, and the ability to oversee financial controls and reporting
Exceptional team management skills, with a track record of building strong working relationships with staff, while providing coaching, mentoring, and accountability
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional knowledge of Excel and other financial software applications such as Great Plains and Business Central; an ability to introduce, guide, and implement effective and timely financial systems
Risk management expertise, with experience; managing insurance coverage, and working with legal counsel and auditors to mitigate risks
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the organization's mission
A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field is required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation a plus
