TITLE: Cheerleading Coach
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has a valid Kentucky teaching certificate
- Has had prior experience or exhibits evidence of knowledge of cheerleading.
- Has the ability to work well with all students.
- Has the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, parents, media, and the community.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To provide all students the opportunity to achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Select, train, and provide support for a group to perform cheerleading activities.
- Participate in those functions and activities as described in the regular teacher job description.
- Develop sportsmanship in self and students.
- Instruct students in the skills involved in cheerleading.
- Attend clinics to improve understanding of techniques of instruction.
- Represent the school properly to officials, representatives of other schools, an spectators.
- Participate in scheduling practices and performances in cooperation with the principal, athletic director, coaches, and, when necessary, band director.
- Arrange for adult chaperones on all trips.
- Monitor approved fund-raising activities.
- Maintain safety and good health practices.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor.
