TITLE: Physical Therapist Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed by the Kentucky Board of Physical Therapy
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education, Licensed Physical Therapist
JOB GOALS: To provide physical therapy services to assigned students solely under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs physical therapy functions under the direct supervision and direction of the PT.
- Upon direction of the PT, gathers data related to the student’s disability.
- Complies with the plan of supervision established by the PT and communicates any change or lack of change which occurs in a student’s condition.
- Manages equipment, schedule, workplace, and therapy files. If the district participates in Medicaid reimbursement, the therapy assistant follows the established procedures.
- Adheres to the ethical and legal standards of the profession to develop professionally. He/She adheres to established rules, regulations and laws and will work cooperatively to accomplish the goals of the district as defined by the ARC
- Carries out other responsibilities as assigned and needed for efficient functioning of the classroom.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position assigned by supervisor.
