TITLE: Physical Therapist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy
- Licensed by the Ky Board of Physical Therapy
- Two years experience working in physical therapy
REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education or Designee
JOB GOAL: Develop, disseminate, and evaluate programs and procedures for physical therapy and assessment; provide physical therapy to eligible individuals; supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned staff.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Designing the physical therapy program so that it is consistent with the total educational philosophy of the district.
- Continuing professional growth through educational meetings, literature, and exchanging ideas among the district staff.
- Working in coordination with teachers and ancillary personnel in planning and developing the program.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Consultation with school personnel concerning implementation and monitoring of existing IEP and Educational program.
- Maintain student confidentiality both in and out of the school setting.
- Completes evaluations and evaluations.
- Gathers, organizes, and reports assessment data to required team members and parents including participation in ARC meetings to review reports and student progress data.
- Implements and documents therapy programs and uses special education equipment including positioning, exercise, developmental motor programs, ambulation, and functional lifetime activities.
- Manages equipment, schedule, workplace, and therapy files.
- Contribute to the work environment using a positive and supportive teamwork building framework, including working cooperatively and respectfully with all other staff members.
- Participate in team meetings and in-service trainings.
- Complete Medicaid documentation and progress monitoring documentation for student goals.
- Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Maintain universal precautions and complete required training in areas that constitute risk.
- Perform duties to reflect district policies and procedures.
- Complete required training to maintain licensure.
- Perform other related work duties as needed or assigned by supervisor.
