What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tester position at Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor & Haun?
An Ophthalmic Diagnostic Tester performs various diagnostic testing in order to provide the physician with the information needed to help diagnose diseases and administer treatments helping to ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care.
This position requires excellent customer service skills, communication, and the ability to multi-task.
Ophthalmic skills include
- Clear communication and properly explaining and preparing the patient for the test you will be performing.
- Knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology including basic eye anatomy.
- Knowledge and understanding of each physician’s testing preferences.
- Performing various visual field tests to evaluate peripheral vision in order to detect any abnormalities.
- Performing various OCT imaging to create high resolution cross-sectional images of the eye’s structures.
- Performing fundus photography to capture images of the back of the eye to assess the retina and optic nerve.
- Performing corneal topography to map out the cornea’s curvature and help diagnose any corneal conditions.
- Provide support to clinical staff with additional special testing that may include color vision screening.
- Administer topical ophthalmic drops if directed by clinical staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of testing rooms during the work day. Keeping rooms appropriately stocked with any items needed.
- Assisting clinical staff with loading rooms or escorting patients to check out.
- Compliance with all practice procedures and protocols. Compliance with all State and Federal regulations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
