We are seeking a Director of R&D, Environmental to help us continue our work towards designing and creating the best possible solutions to meet the evolving needs of our global customers.
What You’ll Work On
The Director of Research & Development (R&D), Environmental Division, leads the hardware and embedded systems research and development efforts. This role is responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support our mission to advance science and technology for the benefit of humankind. The Director will oversee the R&D team, manage resources effectively, and ensure the alignment of R&D initiatives with the division’s strategic goals.
You’ll Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks :
- Create and maintain a strong culture in accordance with Campbell Scientific’s core values.
- Establish and maintain a culture of technical rigor and engineering excellence.
- Develop and execute the R&D strategy within the Environmental Division.
- Lead efforts to bridge the gap between technical innovation and business strategy.
- Partner with divisional and executive leadership to translate strategic vision into actionable R&D initiatives.
- Foster collaboration across functions to streamline product development processes.
- Apply data-driven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers and researchers.
- Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively.
- Ensure the team has the resources, training, and tools necessary to excel.
- Oversee the design, prototyping, testing, and production of new hardware products.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in hardware technologies for environmental applications.
- Represent the R&D team in discussions with customers, vendors, and industry partners.
- Maintain rigorous quality assurance processes.
What We’re Looking For :
Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances as needed while fulfilling job responsibilities. Must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, and other movement consistent with office environments. Must be able to travel internationally on a regular basis, up to 80 days per year.
