Position Summary:
The Access Services Librarian assists in the provision of user-centered services that facilitate the use of the library’s collections. The incumbent provides key access service roles including interlibrary loan, document delivery, stacks management, and service desk coverage including research assistance. The Access Services Librarian also assists with the provision of library services for the Adult & Online Education programs including the Second Chance Initiative, Campbell’s prison education program
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide access services options, including circulation, interlibrary loan, and document delivery.
- Perform circulation and reference desk duties, to include one evening per week, opening the library some mornings and some Saturdays.
- Assist the Reference & Distance Learning Librarian with the provision of library services to Adult & Online Education, including Second Chance Initiative, students and faculty.
- Develop and implement new services and instructional support to meet changing research needs.

Oversee the organization, management, and promotion of the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business (LFSB) Museum collection. (~2 hrs/wk)
- Arrange, promote, and lead regular LFSB Museum tours.
- Serve on university committees as assigned.
- Perform other such duties as may be assigned by the Head of Access Services & Student Success Librarian, Reference & Distance Learning Librarian, or Dean of the Library.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; FERPA and other state and federal mandates.

Education/Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Library or Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited program.
- Experience working with prison education students, desired.
- Experience working with Blackboard LMS, desired.
- Experience in the provision of access services
- Experience in a higher education or non-profit sector, desired
- Experience or training in interlibrary loan, desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills
- Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
- Familiarity with ExLibris Alma system and Atlas Systems ILLiad
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and common methods of digital communication such as web conferencing, web/text/ chat platforms
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
- Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines
- Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
- Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours and occasional travel for professional development; including overnight stays
