Position Summary
This paid internship position provides a unique opportunity to work within three highly collaborative departments during the internship period allowing for a rich and diverse set of experiences for any aspiring Higher Education and Student Affairs professional. The Office of New Student Programs and the Office of Admissions oversee the Summer Orientation and Tartan Extended Orientation programs. The intern will be involved in the supervision, mentoring, and training of Tartan Leaders as well as assisting with the planning of leader training, summer orientation programs, and Tartan. Additionally, the intern will have an opportunity to assist with different projects within the Office of New Student Programs including curriculum development and design for the CUFS 100: Campbell University First-Year Seminar Course. The intern will also develop, organize, and implement programming and support for commuting students at Campbell University in support of the Union Administration Department. Additional projects and experiences are open for discussion so that the intern can decide which areas of skills and experiences they would like to gain from the internship period.
The intern position is a part-time staff position and is paid at a rate of $12 per hour for up to 25 hours per week as determined by availability and budget. This position will typically work within the business hours of Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM with some night and weekend events as needed.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the planning of New Student, Transfer, and Family Orientation Programs and Tartan Extended Orientation including but not limited to program planning, event management, logistics and operations, marketing and communications, presentations, assessment, evaluation, research, and more.
- Assist with administrative tasks in the Office of New Student Programs including marketing, email communication, scheduling, document creation, office management and organization, budgeting, data and assessment, and more.
- Design and implement a student leader training and experience assessment plan for Orientation and Tartan Leaders, Tartan Team Leads, and CUFS 100 Peer Mentors.
- Assist with the development of student leader training sessions for Orientation and Tartan Leaders, Tartan Team Leaders, and CUFS 100 Peer Mentors and Instructors.
- Contribute to the development of Orientation and Tartan sessions, including content development, assessment, and programming.
- Participate in office and departmental planning and strategy meetings for Orientation, Tartan, and CUFS 100 Programs.
- Develop and implement a programming model and support services for commuter students at Campbell.
- Create, develop, implement, and assess the student leader recruitment and hiring processes for Tartan Team Leads, Tartan Leaders, CUFS 100 Instructors, CUFS 100 Peer Mentors, and the summer NODA intern.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Previous experience or interest in any of the following areas is required: Housing and Residence Life, Admissions, New Student Programs, First Year Experience, Transfer Student Programs, Student Involvement, Student Activities, Student Leadership Programs, Academic Affairs and Advising, Academic Support Services, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Programs, Parent and Family Programs, Commuter Student Programs, or College Access Programs.
- Demonstrate interest in Orientation, Extended Orientation, New Student Programs, and Student Programming.
- Be able to effectively manage time, multi-task, be adaptable and flexible to new situations, be on-time, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups of people including new students, transfer students, staff, faculty, parents, and families.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and common methods of digital communication.
- Familiarity with or ability to manage and utilize social media platforms
