Campbell, Yost, Clare & Norell (CYCN), a top-rated health care litigation firm, has an opening for a full-time Associate Attorney in health care litigation. Five years of experience in litigation is preferred, and must have Arizona law license. The position responsibilities include:
· Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment.
· Strong research and writing skills.
· Proficiently using word-processing software and legal research software.
· Critical thinking skills, including identifying case issues and case strategies.
· Proactively tracking and meeting due dates, deadlines, and following up on pending matters.
· Conducting witness interviews.
· Analyzing and summarizing discovery documents and depositions.
· Planning for and taking depositions, including expert witnesses.
· Traveling for state-wide and out of state depositions, court hearings, and meetings.
· Drafting legal pleadings, including Answers, disclosure statements, discovery requests, and motions.
· Appearing for court hearings and oral arguments.
· Assisting with and participating in trial activities, including preparation of motions in limine, witness preparations, direct and cross-examinations.
· Independently but collaboratively performing case tasks for supervising attorneys.
· Entering time in billing software program with supervision as needed.
· Responding to phone calls and emails from clients, witnesses, and other attorneys in a professional manner.
