ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Through face-to-face interactions with members, you will have the opportunity to provide top-notch service by handling financial transactions accurately and efficiently. Additionally, you will be contributing directly to the success of the Credit Union by recognizing opportunities to make sales referrals to appropriate branch staff. As a teller, your day will be spent having professional, friendly and gratifying interactions with both members and team members.
The successful candidate will also respond to member requests, problems, and complaints, provide routine information on Credit Union services or policies, including eligibility for membership, member services, types of CU accounts, loan products, interest rates, current dividend rates, office hours, and/or escort them to the appropriate department for further assistance. Tellers will also cross-sell services offered by the Credit Union.
Successful candidates must have a minimum of a HS Diploma/Technical Equivalent, ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; and possess the ability to accurately count money. Prefer financial and cash handling experience.
Tellers work on the Teller Line, Drive-Through Window, and participate in a weekly rotation at First Impressions (reception desk). Key responsibilities include:
· Adhere to all Federal and State laws and regulations applicable to the credit union, including the Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.
· Promote credit union products and services based on member needs.
· Process daily teller transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, wire transfer, cash advances, cashier’s checks, money orders, etc.
· Maintain cash recyclers and coin dispensers by loading/off-loading currency cassettes and filling coin dispensers as necessary, perform monthly and/or quarterly audits, process daily balancing reports, perform weekly cleaning, etc.
· Perform maintenance and balance automated coin machine, vault, and coin drawer; assist supervisor with on-site and off-site automated teller machine balancing and maintenance.
Key First Impressions responsibilities include:
· Greet members and direct them to appropriate credit union representatives based on their needs.
· Maintain the order in which members entered the lobby to ensure each member is helped in a timely manner.
· Assist other departments with monthly and quarterly audits, filing, returned mail, etc.
· Ensure that the first impressions desk is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
· Opening and closing procedures include unlocking entrance doors at 9:00 AM (Monday-Friday) and locking main entrance doors at 5:00 PM (Monday- Friday.)
Experience:
· Teller: 1 year (Preferred)
· Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
· Cash Handling: 1 year (Preferred)
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand for 4-6 hour intervals
· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
