Job Position : Veterinary Technician (FT or PT)

COMPENSATION :

Ranges are for demonstrative purposes only; pay is negotiable based on job-related experience, skills, and training :

  • Vet Techs with both comprehensive clinical skills and either 2 years of Vet Tech experience -OR- an active Texas license (LVT), and who can perform standard Vet Tech duties with reasonable confidence whether independently or under guidance, range from $17 to $20 per hour.
  • Vet Techs with less experience -OR- requiring additional clinical training or greater supervisory oversight range from $14 to $16 per hour.

    • WHO WE'RE SEEKING :

    For general descriptive purposes only, as actual job duties may vary and are subject to change due to changing business or patient needs, and may include other duties as needed :

  • THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION. We're looking for experienced Veterinary Technicians only , with hands-on career experience and / or formal Vet Tech training, and who possess strong working knowledge of standard veterinary procedures, diseases, pharmaceuticals, and patient care. (Those not meeting these requirements may wish to consider our Veterinary Assistant or Kennel Assistant job postings, if available.)
  • Willing to explore both FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME options. (Also willing to explore both 4-day / 10-hour and 5-day / 8-hour schedules for FT.)
  • LVT license and / or graduation from an AVMA-CVTEA accredited program is a plus, but not required.
  • We're seeking Vet Techs with demonstrated proficiency assisting Veterinarians during surgeries, medical procedures, and euthanasias; with IV catheter placement; taking blood draws; monitoring anesthesia; taking radiographs; preparing medications; operating common veterinary and laboratory equipment; safely handling and restraining animals; caring for and cleaning animals; clinical safety and sterilization standards; maintaining inventory logbooks; updating patient progress and care in electronic medical records; communicating with and educating clients; etc.
  • Veterinary Technicians play a leading role in the health and care of patients. Whether serving as a second set of hands for the Veterinarians or working directly with clients, Veterinary Assistants are essential to day-to-day operations. Accordingly, punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Veterinary Technicians serve as a second set of eyes for the Veterinarians. Emerging concerns regarding a patient's health may be noticed first by a Veterinary Technician. Accordingly, Vet Techs must have keen detail orientation, work well both independently and under guidance, and demonstrate initiative in completing daily tasks. Following through on detailed instructions is also essential.
  • Being on our team is fun and rewarding, but requires being a go-getter with tactful client communication skills and a high respect for patients, clients, and fellow team members. We greatly value a positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and impeccable ethics. And of course, a love for animals and veterinary medicine is essential!

    Campeche Cove All Animal Hospital (CCAAH) is located in the beautiful city of Galveston, easily accessible to all parts of the island as well as other cities throughout Galveston County. Our charming, home-like facility has a beautiful outdoor deck that faces protected wetlands full of birds and wildlife. Just on the other side of the wetlands is the ocean, which is an easy 5-minute drive away! We don't work overnight hours, and our facility houses radiography, dental radiography, cautery, and ultrasound equipment, as well as a high-speed dental unit and a well-equipped lab for blood, urine, and fecal analysis.

Our home-like facility has a beautiful outdoor deck that faces protected wetlands full of birds and wildlife. Just on the other side of the wetlands is the ocean, which is an easy 5-minute drive away! We don't work overnight hours, and our facility houses radiography, dental radiography, cautery, and ultrasound equipment, as well as a high-speed dental unit and a well-equipped lab for blood, urine, and fecal analysis.We are locally-owned, with firmly established roots in the community. While the majority of our patients are companion animals (dogs and cats), we also see birds, exotic pets, and even occasional farm animals.
