With 38 locations across multiple states and over 1,000 employees, we are growing fast—and we’re looking for a Payroll Manager to help us optimize and scale our payroll operations.
The Role
As the Payroll Manager, you will oversee and enhance payroll operations for our multi-state workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will be responsible for managing payroll processing, implementing system improvements, and ensuring compliance with multi-state tax laws. This role requires strong leadership, technical payroll expertise, and a proactive approach to process optimization.
What You’ll Do
✅ Lead and manage payroll processing for 1,100 employees across 38 locations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.
✅ Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, wage laws, and company policies.
✅ Oversee multi-state payroll tax filings, deductions, and compliance, staying ahead of legislative changes.
✅ Implement, optimize, and maintain payroll systems, ensuring seamless integration with HR and accounting software.
✅ Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
✅ Serve as a key resource for payroll-related inquiries, providing support to employees, HR, and finance teams.
✅ Manage and develop payroll staff, fostering a high-performing team.
✅ Collaborate with external payroll vendors, tax agencies, and auditors as needed.
What We’re Looking For
⭐ 3-5 years of payroll management experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
⭐ Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll compliance.
⭐ Experience implementing and optimizing payroll and HRIS systems.
⭐ Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar).
⭐ High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
⭐ Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
⭐ Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus.
