What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Locator position at Campos EPC LLC?
NACC Construction is continuing to grow and is looking for a Utility Locator to join our team in the Denver area. As a Utility Locator, you will use locate equipment to accurately locate underground facilities that include but are not limited to, telephone lines, electrical power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines and sewer lines. Successful candidates should be self-starters, with the desire and ambition to work alone. Our utility locators will also use GPS equipment daily. The role will provide either a company vehicle or gas card and the employee will be responsible for driving to different job sites to support Plan and Profile work around the Denver metro area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
- Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing the necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.
- Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
- Use assigned communication equipment to effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities.
- Operate different electronic detection equipment, locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits.
- Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to all locates completed.
- Operate company vehicle in a safe manner, and maintain professional appearance.
- Perform work in all weather conditions, during normal and after hours.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 3-10 years’ experience in a relatable position required; prior location work highly preferred
- Clean driving record required.
- Experience with Trimble GPS or ARC GIS are a plus
PAY RANGE: $28-32/HR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE
