Do you want to spend your summer on a beautiful private lake? Teaching campers the skills to succeed in arts, sports, and life? We are a traditional overnight camp in Wilmot, NH. Located on the picturesque Eagle Pond, we house 350 campers and 200 staff during the summer months of June - August. We’d like to invite you to join our amazing team!
Job Description:
The woodwork instructor will be responsible for the design and implementation of fun, engaging activity sessions that capture our campers interest through the exploration and creation of all kinds of woodwork projects.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge/skills:
- Some experience teaching woodworking
- Experience of operating and maintaining woodworking machines and tools including: bandsaw, miter saw, pillar drill and thicknesser/planer. Along with smaller power tools such as routers, jigsaws, sanders, drills, and hand tools such as planes and chisels
- Awareness of Health and Safety within the workshop
- Experience of creating and developing woodwork projects
- Strong communication & organizational skills
- Strong interest in connecting with others and being part of a community
Days will consist of teaching groups of around 6 campers. Working on projects such as; personalized signs, bird boxes, table tennis bats, jointed boxes, wood burning (pyrography), games, and small pieces of furniture, along with any other ideas you wish to implement.
Every staff member has a designated supervisor that will provide regular feedback and support, including weekly check-ins. Staff development is at the forefront of our employee management, and we strive to make sure staff leave feeling more confident in their personal and professional skills.
The employment dates are June 15th – August 9th 2025. Salary is $2,600 plus $150 travel allowance. Candidates with a relevant degree will receive an additional $500. Base pay is flexible based on teaching experience. In addition to the salary: Accommodation, food and laundry services are provided.
