What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Maintenance Generation Supervisor position at CAMS Parkway-GB II, LLC?
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees and coordinates all maintenance activities related to complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems. This role provides both functional and technical direction to bargaining unit and contract personnel while developing and administering corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance programs. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for implementing training programs for station maintenance personnel and managing the procurement of parts and equipment necessary for repairs and upkeep. Strong work week management and outage planning skills are highly desirable for this position.
The New Have Harbor Station is an Oil-Fired CE Steam Boiler Plant with the capacity to produce 455 Megawatts, with 3-LM 6000 Peaking Units located in New Haven Connecticut.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of plant equipment.
- Communicate information clearly, both orally and written.
- Troubleshoot Mechanical and Electrical plant equipment to resolve operational problems.
- Implement Plant Emergency Procedures as needed.
- Communicate conditions of plant system and equipment to others.
- Apply knowledge of power plant operations and basic power plant principles to daily decision-making and work tasks.
- Operate computers and printers.
- Work with multiple internal work groups and Contractors while carrying out duties.
- Training of Maintenance personnel in their qualifications.
- Meet physical requirements of the job such as performing tasks while standing, walking, climbing, and squatting.
- Performance of duties requires working overtime.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Three or more years of power plant experience required.
- Excellent technical and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated leadership characteristics and potential.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and perform effectively without close supervision.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and work management systems, e-mail etc..
- Ability to use discretion concerning confidential and sensitive company information.
