What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at CamTran?
Johnstown location. The Human Resources Generalist administers all CamTran’s human resources functions in a professional, efficient and effective manner. This position is responsible to administer Family and Medical Leave and Workers’ Compensation Program. Acts as CamTran’s Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the Drug and Alcohol Program. Completes Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program functions. Conducts recruitment, hiring, onboarding and offboarding functions. Will be trained to process payroll and administer CamTran’s insurance benefits programs. Assists with CamTran’s Title VI Program requirements. This position is CamTran’s Right-to-Know Officer. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and assists and supports the CHRO by responding to all human resources related inquiries. Provides policy and procedure guidance to employees and Management.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human resources (or related) field and at least four (4) years of human resources experience in a union environment.
- Must possess an understanding of compliance obligations related to human resources including but not limited to: Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Employment Opportunity, and Workers’ Compensation and other related state and federal laws.
- Must have knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new/emerging technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.Effective interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills along with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team-setting and also work independently to accomplish tasks
- Computer skills, including proficient to advanced MS Office skills are required. Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- PA Driver’s License is required
- Annual Pay Rate: $48,000-$50,000 (non-exempt position)
