Self-Service Gas Station - Assistant Manager
Who we are:
Canaan Fuels was founded in the summer of 2006 by two brothers, with the purchase of 2-pump full-service station in Taunton, Massachusetts. They quickly transformed the old station into a modern, busy convenience store and 4-pump self-service station that is the number one go-to stop for many of the locals in the area. Since 2006, they have grown their business into a small chain of gas stations and convenience stores with various locations around the south shore.

What will you do?
To be eligible for hire, one must be able to perform different tasks both in the store and around the station. This position includes (but is not limited to): cleaning the store and following all federal and state laws regarding the sale of tobacco, lottery and other stocking merchandise. The assistant manager will help perform daily deep cleaning programs and needs to be available on-call to assist during busy hours.
The assistant manager needs to be available on-call. They must also learn the safety procedures for all of the station's gas pumps in the event of an emergency. Complete duties and paid training will be provided by management. Lastly, you must be very comfortable and have experience working with the general public.
Canaan Fuels expects our management to arrive to work on time and greet all customers with respect and professionalism. It is also important to remember that gas stations are open every day of the year. Our assistant manager will not have a fixed schedule, and is expected to be on-call for agreed upon dates and times.
Required Skills:
- Prior management and gas station attendance experience is preferred. Experience with cash handling will be prioritized!
- Ability to respectfully communicate with the public in a friendly and professional manner.
