Role Summary
The Family Office, Investment & Transfer Pricing Manager plays a critical role in managing the integration of WHL’s international businesses. This includes expertise in family office initiatives such as investment management (equities, bonds, and alternatives), oversight of transfer pricing vendors and processes, and economic substance management across multiple jurisdictions.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the VP of Finance, Shared Services, with potential collaboration with the CEO.
Critical Accountabilities
Transfer Pricing & Economic Substance : Manage transfer pricing matters, including coordination with finance and legal advisors in Canada, Barbados, St. Lucia, Italy, and the US.
Investment Management : Oversee family office investment activities, ensuring smooth coordination between operational companies, family finances, and wealth managers.
FX & Hedging : Strategize and execute foreign exchange and hedging activities, aligning corporate and family office financial operations.
Real Estate Investment : Manage existing and prospective property investments, including development projects.
Expense Management : Oversee family office expenses, including personal assistant expenditures.
Special Projects : Drive new investments and initiatives in alignment with the company’s strategic goals..
Qualification & Experience
Advanced knowledge of US & Canadian GAAP and IFRS .
MBA and / or CPA designation preferred.
Deep understanding of transfer pricing mechanisms and compliance.
Experience with foreign exchange management , hedging strategies, and financial planning.
Proficiency in researching and evaluating investment opportunities.
Exceptional communication skills for engaging with contributors at all levels.
Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Previous experience in an international business setting is essential.
Experience with family office operations is a strong advantage.
Availability to work EST hours, with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
