Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
- Assist project manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish.
- Work closely with the project manager to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones.
- Ensure that all construction activities are performed in compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical expertise in reviewing and preparing construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality control and compliance with design documents.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise on-site and provide solutions in a timely manner.
- Monitor project costs and budget adherence, identifying any deviations and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Ensure that projects are completed within the established schedule, identifying potential delays and mitigating them through effective planning.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
- Prepare and manage all project documentation, including reports, progress updates, change orders, and close-out documents.
- Track project progress, ensuring milestones are achieved and any project issues are escalated as needed.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is performed according to approved plans and specifications.
- Ensure safety standards are strictly followed and address any potential hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with resolving any quality control issues and implement solutions to ensure the highest standards of construction.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure materials and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, ensuring work is completed to satisfaction before processing payments.
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal facility performance and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for facility-related services, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Identify and execute facility improvement projects to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and building codes.
- Monitor and manage facility-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and repair solutions.
- Develop emergency response plans and coordinate facility-related safety training for employees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience (2 years) as a Project Engineer in construction or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, AutoCAD).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- The position is required to travel across states from time to time to different manufacturing sites and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to the transition from construction to facility operations.
- Ability to conduct site visits and inspections in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to [50 lbs] if necessary.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during site inspections.
