Job Summary :
The Sr. Specialist I, Sourcing will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes and ensure the availability of high-quality materials and services. This role involves managing supplier relationships, conducting market analysis, and negotiating contracts to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and expertise in procurement and sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing Strategy : Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and optimize the procurement of materials, components, and services. Evaluate market trends and supplier capabilities to inform strategic decisions.
Supplier Management : Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as cost, quality, and delivery performance. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains and address any issues that arise.
Contract Negotiation : Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions. Manage the contract lifecycle, including amendments, renewals, and compliance with contractual obligations.
Market Analysis : Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies that may impact sourcing decisions.
Procurement Process : Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery. Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase orders, and monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality and delivery standards.
Cost Management : Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to reduce procurement costs while maintaining product quality and supplier performance. Analyze cost structures and identify areas for improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering, production, and quality teams, to understand requirements and ensure alignment between sourcing strategies and operational needs.
Compliance and Reporting : Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards in all sourcing activities. Prepare and present reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.
Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPP) are a plus.
Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a proven track record in strategic sourcing and supplier management. Experience in the solar energy or manufacturing industry is advantageous.
