What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Auditor position at Canandaigua City School District?
CLAIMS AUDITOR
12 mos, M-F, 6 hours/day
Starting as soon as possible
Salary commensurate with experience
Benefits provided include paid leave time, NY State retirement, health/dental insurance options.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Auditing/verifying all claims for payment
- Authorizing the issuing of checks for payment
- Verifying vouchers are properly itemized and mathematically accurate
- Verifying payments are being charged to correct budget codes
- Prepare monthly warrant summaries for each fund for which checks have been issued.
- Prepare and submit to the Audit/Finance Committee and the Board of Education such reports as requested or required on a quarterly basis.
- Review employee timesheets.
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent. Completed college course in accounting or math, or 1 year job experience involving accounting.
Successful candidate will have fundamental knowledge of math and an ability to perform mathematical functions quickly and accurately; good judgement; high degree of personal and professional integrity.
