What does a summer intern at CNB do?
As the only local, full-service, community-owned financial institution in the Rochester area, Canandaigua National Bank & Trust is investing in you. Our interns experience firsthand what it is like working in the world of financial services. As a summer intern you will work side by side with our team to provide individuals, businesses, municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations access to all the financial services they will ever need. Interns will act as a member of the team for the summer, assisting the department help achieve the bank’s goal – of ensuring our community thrives and grows.
Throughout the summer, intern will have an opportunity to connect with each other, shadow within a branch, network with different departments, and enjoy social events. The summer will culminate in presentation to their managers and the Executive Team.
This position is a paid internship/co-op for Summer 2025. Program begins Tuesday, May 27th, 2025.
Operations Administration Intern
The Operations Administration intern will help the Operations department in performing administrative job functions for the Operations Division. They will be assigned lead on the preparation and completion of several departmental projects leading to efficiency gains and data retention. This position will also support our facilities team in the execution and planning for large enterprise events.
This role will assist the Operations team here at CNC by:
- Performs clerical duties: filing (including electronic), data input, data upload verification, processing various transactions on the bank’s core system.
- Quality control address changes to make sure they are valid and have the proper paperwork.
- Designing and developing an internal “procedure manual” of bank operations functions.
- Participate in facilities projects and offer support in necessary actions
- Supporting the daily operations needs of the building, i.e., reception, mail, building deliveries
- Providing good customer service
What would our ideal candidate look like?
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Operations or Finance, preferred.
- Experience or classwork in generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Possess strong communication skills and organizational skills.
- Desire and comfort interacting with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally.
- Able to work independently.
- Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, and lift items weighting 40 lbs. or less.
Schedule: M-F 8:30a.m. – 5 p.m., with flexibly depending on needs.

Compensation - $18 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
