About the Position:
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Shipping associate will work with other departments and operations team members to pick, pack, check and process scheduled orders based on required quality processes and daily / weekly / monthly targets. This position is also responsible for the accurate processing of all outbound shipments in accordance with processes and standards. The Shipping associate will also be required to assist in the receiving of products and unloading trailers and containers. This position is required to read pick lists in order to pick orders accurately and efficiently. This position will operate equipment such as computers and material handling equipment such as forklifts. The Shipping Associate will interact professionally with fellow co-workers, shipping carriers / couriers and customers. Some duties are:
- Verify prepared orders against shipping documents for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate errors, discrepancies and inventory inaccuracies as needed
- Book carriers and couriers via websites or other means
- Pick orders accurately and completely following details on pick lists
- Complete shipping documents with accuracy and precision
- Use forklifts and other material handling equipment to pick orders
- Operate banding and shrink-wrapping equipment according to process and procedure to ensure orders ship without damage
- Read and interpret shipping documents and pick lists
- Inspect finished orders for adherence to quality standards
- Troubleshoot order picking and shipping issues
- Participate in 5S / Kaizen activities focusing on continuous improvement
- Complete final packaging and pallet preparation including labelling, taping, banding and shrink wrapping
- Maintain a clean and organized work area as required by housekeeping standards
- Pick and ship orders following all quality standards while meeting daily / weekly / monthly targets
- Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles to support other job functions such as shipping, receiving and residential production as required
- Participates in activities and training to increase job knowledge, including any required training, job rotation programs
- Creates and fosters an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive, professional and respectful working relationships
- Follow all safety protocols, procedures and guidelines
- Participate in annual company inventory
About you:
- High School Diploma / GED, or combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years experience in shipping
- 1-3 years in receiving an asset
- 1-3 years experience using ERP software
- Proficient computer and data entry skills
- Experience using hand and power tools
- Previous or current forklift certification. Recertification by Canature WaterGroup will be required.
- Ability to read, interpret and accurately follow written instructions and specifications
- Ability to operate hand and power tolls
- Superior attention to detail and quality control skills and the ability to work with precision
- Mechanical knowledge and ability
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively and professionally with all co-workers to improve processes and productivity
- Strong mathematical reasoning skills
- Team player with a positive and professional attitude
- Ability to work overtime on rare occasions

About the work environment:
Warehouse
- Able to push/pull/lift to 50 lbs occasionally
- Able to withstand temperature changes in a typical warehouse environment (heat and cold)
- Position spends extended amounts of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing.
- Position may require occasional climbing of rolling stairs for top-level selection.
- Able to frequently manipulate small items required for product assembly
