What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Project Manager, Construction position at Canaveral Port Authority?
Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager, Construction will have the responsibility to assist the Senior Project Managers with the planning, design, engineering, and construction and hands on management of short and long-range capital improvement and major maintenance and repair projects. This is an exempt entry-level position.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the management of architecture, engineering, construction and building professionals
- Facilitate the participation of stakeholders in the collaborative design and construction process on all projects
- Assist the Senior Project Managers with overall integration of technical activities for the planning, budgeting, design and construction of medium to large architecture, engineering and building projects
- Review project design and construction changes with the Senior Project Managers
- Assist with the preparation of project design and construction specifications, budgets, schedules and concept solutions
- Assist with the facilitation of budgets, bids, and contracts
- During emergency conditions, all CPA employees are automatically considered essential employees and may be subject to recall. These events may include, but are not limited to, natural, man-made, or public health emergencies. Employees may be expected to perform emergency and/or recovery operations outside of their normal assigned responsibilities and routine working hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- College degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
- Prior full time or intern experience in seaport, civil/structural engineering, or transportation projects is preferred but not required
Licenses / Certification Required:
- Florida Driver's License
Physical Requirement:
- Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work
- May involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (20-30 pounds)
Environmental Requirements:
- Office environment and working closely with team on job sites.
