Cancer Care Northwest is in search of a Research Contracts & Budget Specialist who would be responsible for research contract negotiation, coverage analysis, and negotiating clinical trial budgets and payment terms under the supervision of the Research Director. Works in compliance with Cancer Care Northwest Research (CCNWR) Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), principles of Good Clinical Practice, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviews and negotiates the terms of research contracts according to applicable laws and CCNW standards.
- Conducts Medicare Coverage Analysis and completes Cost Allocation in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
- Critically evaluates research protocols to assess resource needs; assessment includes all research procedures, clinical research staff time, investigator time, and costs from ancillary departments.
- Prepares internal budget and projects estimated study profit or loss.
- Prepares sponsor budget and negotiates budgets with sponsors.
- Reviews study builds in CTMS for completeness and accuracy and makes edits as necessary.
- Reviews protocol amendments for financial impact and prepares and negotiates budget amendments as necessary. Makes corresponding changes to CTMS study builds.
- Conducts charge review in EMR and designates guarantor according to coverage analysis.
- Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.
Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, and Prior Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Bachelor's degree or at least two years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Research Administration or equivalent which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
It is preferred an individual have:
- Experience working with clinical research finance
- SoCRA or ACRP certification
- Previous oncology experience
