Position Title: Paralegal
Job/Position Summary:
The Paralegal will support Cancer Center of South Florida’s (“CCSF”) finance, compliance, and human resource departments focusing on contract management, litigation support, and other general legal matters. This role helps establish and maintain legal frameworks that enable CCSF to deliver innovative healthcare solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating healthcare-related and physician contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, and patient consent forms.
- Ensure that contracts comply with healthcare regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain contract database and tracking system.
- Manage company procurement processes, including request evaluation, coordinating committee meetings, and overseeing contract renewals and terminations.
- Conduct research on healthcare laws and regulations (HIPAA, EMTALA, Stark Law, etc.) to support senior leaders and compliance in providing legal advice.
- Ensure company policies and practices are compliant with federal and state healthcare laws, including privacy and security regulations.
- Prepare and organize legal documents such as healthcare compliance reports, regulatory filings, and contract renewals.
- Assist in managing healthcare licensing and certifications, ensuring all required documents and applications are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- File necessary documents with state and federal agencies, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory procedures.
- Support internal stakeholders and act as a liaison with outside counsel, government or regulatory agencies.
- Provide administrative support to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field
- 3-5 years paralegal experience, healthcare industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickbacks)
- Proficient in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and agreements. Experience in contract negotiation and administration.
- Ability to maintain and organize a comprehensive contract database and tracking system

- Paralegal certification required (Certified Paralegal or Advanced Certified Paralegal)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to work in all Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Proficiency in legal research tools
