The Cancer Pathways mission is to provide support, education, and community for anyone affected by cancer before, during or after their cancer experience.


The Oncology Social Worker/ Program Manager manages multiple social work services and projects within the social work department. This position reports to the Oncology Social Work Director.


Key Job Responsibilities:

Support Groups and Assessments

  • Provide individual psycho-social intakes/assessments, emotional support sessions and family sessions.
  • Facilitate support groups in person and/or via telehealth.
  • Provide ongoing support to active members of Cancer Pathways.
  • Provide resource navigation via telephone or telehealth to members.
  • Provide immediate assistance and support to those who are contacting Cancer Pathways via phone, email or on telehealth sessions.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of intakes and groups in accordance with standard social work documentation procedure.


Camp and Family Program

  • Attend and support the execution of Camp Sparkle including all weeks of summer camp and year round programs.
  • Support the expansion of Camp Sparkle and Sparkle Saturdays to new cities in Washington.
  • Facilitate appropriate therapeutic arts or recreation activities for Camp Sparkle program based on ongoing social work needs assessment of current families.


Outreach

  • Create and maintain outreach contacts in communities where we provide services.
  • Build relationships with new referral sources, including local schools, hospitals, workplaces, and community organizations that support those who have been impacted by cancer, including communities that have traditionally been underserved or underrepresented.
  • Establish, educate, and nurture relationships with organizations who provide referrals to Cancer Pathways. This may be done through community health fairs, events, one-on-one meetings, or through promotional marketing campaigns in the local areas.
  • Help support the expansion of Cancer Pathways services and programs to new regions in Washington.
  • Additional duties as assigned by Oncology Social Work Director or Executive Director.


Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a mental health field required
  • Licensed in a mental health field in the state of Washington (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) or in pursuit of licensure
  • Working knowledge of mental health diagnosis and suicide evaluation
  • Excellent knowledge of local and national cancer resources
  • Experience in program management and growth
  • Enjoy working with children and families
  • Ability to manage high energy programs with positivity and compassion
  • Reflect Cancer Pathways in a professional manner
  • Strong written communication abilities
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with diverse populations
  • Ability to speak fluently in other languages a plus


This position will be a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week required in the Capitol Hill office.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and licensure
  • Benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan (403B), paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Parking is covered for employees when in the office. The office is also near multiple public transit stops.
  • Salary Range $65,000- $80,000 / year DOE
