The Cancer Research Institute's research funding supports the entire continuum of basic discovery through early-stage clinical development of novel cancer immunotherapies.
Role: Research Scientist
This role leads work that will have a direct impact on the field of cancer immunotherapy. The Research Scientist will collaborate with CRI’s leadership and external stakeholders to develop, curate, and publish meaningful content to help the field at-large. The individual will stay on top of key immunotherapy trends and developments in oncology.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the immuno-oncology drug development competitive landscape to generate new, field-wide analyses that will help guide the evolution of CRI’s overall program strategies;
- Curating the CRI Immuno-oncology landscape database;
- Leading publication of the update;
- Collaborating with internal team members and external partners on the publication of additional research in leading academic or trade journals;
- Helping organize and participating in thought leadership events;
- Assisting in completing ad hoc consulting assignments; and
- Attending and reporting on scientific conferences and medical meetings
Requirements:
- Experience with data science tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or similar) is preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
- Passionate about CRI’s mission to make cancer a curable disease

- Eager to learn, comfortable asking questions, and capable of solving complex problems proactively and autonomously
- Maintains the highest standards of professionalism and integrity

- Comfortable working with off-site colleagues or clients using email, phone, or other remote technologies
- Advanced and current understanding of biomedical research, with preference for expertise in immunology and cancer immunology, as demonstrated by exceptional publications
- Strong analytical skills, including independent research, statistical proficiency, and expertise in tools like Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent analytical software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-driven and able to excel in a hands-on, self-directed work environment
- Skilled in managing timelines and handling multiple workstreams effectively
- An advanced technical degree (PhD, MD, MPH.) in biomedical sciences or equivalent experience is required. Expertise in immunology, cancer immunotherapy or relevant cancer research fields is preferred
