Research Data Entry Specialist

Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Research Data Entry Specialist for our busy Clinical Research Department. The Research Data Entry Specialist is responsible for the collection and reporting of patient data in approved clinical treatment studies. This position researches patient charts, prepares custom reports, and enters all pertinent data in computer or Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems. In addition to this data management, the Research Data Entry Specialist also assists the clinical research coordinator with scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests, patient procedures, and appointments. Prepares patient records for audits by various organizations, and performs a variety of other administrative functions as needed. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 

• Collects patient data from initial patient contact though end of clinical study
• Researches patient charts to collect the data information required for reporting purposes
• Enters all pertinent data in computer or EDC in a timely manner as outline by department guidelines; generates custom reports to review patient progress
•  Maintains patient data files in an organized manner to facilitate retrieval and reviews
• Tracks data for all patients enrolled on assigned protocols; reports any changes and progress
• Coordinates protocol implementation through patient screening, patient registration, and patient coordination
• Assists the clinical research coordinator with scheduling consultations, diagnostic tests and/or procedures, and future appointments for patients; coordinates scheduling for patients for other study protocols as assigned
• Prepares patient records for audits by regulatory, accrediting, and research organizations
• Maintains records in a confidential manner and in accordance with practice policies
• Performs a variety of other administrative functions, including log maintenance and drug accountability
• Participates actively in site monitoring visits with sponsors and in sponsor and education programs
• All other duties as assigned

Full-time Position, Monday – Friday

Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Minimum of three years’ experience in clinical research and/or medical related experience, preferably in Oncology.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• SOCRA or ACRP CCRP desired
