Cancer Specialists of North Florida is recruiting for an experienced Radiation Manager for our busy Radiation Department. The Radiation Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Radiation Department ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the department. Responsibilities include the development of policies and procedures relating to radiation oncology, recruiting and selection of applicants, and training and development of employees. The Radiation Manager is responsible for all Human Resources related business. The manager works directly with Department Managers, Physicist, Dosimetrist and Radiation Oncologist promoting on-going quality patient care.
This position requires travel to any clinic location that provides radiation therapy to patients.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following :
- Provides direction and oversight of the department modeling effective, efficient operations, including supervising the scheduling and assignment of work, assisting with resolving processing problems, and collecting data to monitor progress.
- Assists the Physicist and Radiation Oncologists in the monitoring that prescribed treatments are performed in compliance with established safety standards.
- Uses resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the goals and objectives within established budgets by recommending budget expenditures.
- Implements and monitors departmental goals and objectives that align with the strategic direction of the organization.
- Implements individual performance expectations; coaches, develops, and provides input to performance evaluations to enable employees to be successful in contributing to the achievement of individual and employee retention.
- Actively seeks opportunities to model teamwork though collaboration both within and outside the department in support of the organization's objectives.
- Demonstrates competencies, and remains up to date in current treatment techniques and advances.
- Works closely with the Radiation Oncologist and the therapy team in the preparation of a treatment plan that is customized to the patient’s needs.
- Administers doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards as prescribed by the physician.
- Knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in the operation of a Radiation Oncology department.
