We’re looking for a strategic and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team and help us shape the future of our organization.

About the Role:

As the Director of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in driving HR initiatives that foster a positive, high-performing culture while ensuring compliance and alignment with Candeo’s mission. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead efforts in talent management, employee engagement, policy development, and more, contributing to the overall success of our organization and its people.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals.
• Lead and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to attract and develop top talent.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, and employee relations.
• Oversee the development and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
• Oversee compensation and benefits programs to remain competitive and cost-effective.
• Utilize HR metrics and reporting to inform strategic decisions and measure the impact of HR initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team

 Education/Training/Licenser/Certification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related degree, certification preferred, or ability to become certified within first year
• Three years Human Resources experience, or related experience 
• Supervisory experience
• Two years’ experience in Human Services or working with people with disabilities, preferred
• Outcomes’ experience required
• Experience in staff development and training, preferred
• Valid Iowa Driver’s License
• Proof of Automobile Insurance

• Must be free from conviction of prior child or dependent adult abuse, neglect or mistreatment
• Possess a motor vehicle that meets the required operational and maintenance guidelines, that are in accordance with the Iowa Department of Transportation motor vehicle safety standards and Candeo’s Motor Vehicle Guidelines.
