Atrium Health Neurosciences Institute-Neurology (NIN) is seeking a Faculty Neurohospitalist Physician. We invite an inpatient, academic focused Neurologist who possess an authentic compassion for teaching and leading academic work at a newly formed neurology residency program at Atrium Health Neurology in Charlotte, NC.
The Neurology Department at Atrium Health is a network of 90 neurology providers that supports 15 care locations, 2 regional based stroke interventional hubs across the greater Charlotte region. Atrium Health boasts a Comprehensive Stroke Center, along with a large and growing network that supports opportunities for research. The growing academic department with new medical school and residency programs as part of the Wake Forest School of Medicine brings exciting opportunities for innovative patient care, teaching and research.
The position includes the opportunity to join our group of 8 neurohospitalist providers, 7 advanced practice providers and our interdisciplinary care team for the stroke network.
About the Opportunity:
- Board eligible or Board certification in Neurology required.
- Vascular fellowship training (preferred)
- 7 on / 7 off schedule, 12-hour day shifts with night- time at home call with-in house Advanced Practice Provider (APP) coverage
- Opportunity to participate in virtual neurology and stroke services.
- Opportunity to participate in national clinical research trials and investigator-initiated studies based on a wealth of data from the stroke network. Applicants with an interest in research and with extramural funding are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Academic faculty appointment with Wake Forest School of Medicine.
- Excellent clinical resources including dedicated stroke coordinators, navigators, and our unique telestroke nursing program.
- Over 600 IV lytic administrations and 350 endovascular interventions per year across the network.
- Large database and strong support from research staff including research coordinators, biostatisticians
- Close partnership with neuroradiology, stroke interventionalists, neurosurgery, epilepsy colleagues and neuro critical care.
