What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Counselor position at Candidate Experience site?
The Financial Counselor I assists with Medicaid and charity care application procedures, as well as educating patients about their financial liabilities. The Financial Counselor I reports to the Financial Counseling Manager and/or Supervisor.
Qualifications:
A. Education
1. High school diploma or GED from an accredited institute required
2. Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
B. Experience
1. One year of related healthcare Revenue Cycle experience, preferably with a focus in Financial Counseling
2. Basic understanding of medical terminology
3. Clear understanding of the impact financial counseling has on Revenue Cycle operations and financial performance
4. Computer skills to include MS Office products
C. Licensure/Certification
1. Certification with Healthcare Financial Management Association (i.e., Certified Revenue Cycle Representative or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional) preferred
