Primary Purpose
Serves as the communications representative for IRCAD North America responsible for overseeing the implementation of both internal and external communication strategies. Duties include managing all outreach and communications channels such as social media platforms, company websites and media relations, writing copy for company newsletters or memos and adhering to a company’s brand by publishing content and marketing materials.
Major Responsibilities
- Plan and strategically design communications plans, initiatives and programs for IRCAD North America that promote and build awareness locally and globally
- Manage communications channels such as social media, website, media relations, newsletters and other communications outlets
- Understand organization strategic plan and align projects/programs/campaigns/activities accordingly
- Collaborate with the Director(s) and other department leadership, develop strategic annual plans and programs that are measurable in design and metric in execution
- Manage multiple projects, possibly oversee a team, exhibit decision making skills and effectively set priorities
- Manage potential risks; participate in development of new data sources in response to project/system needs; draw conclusions and make recommendations based on industry/trends analysis; suggest adjustments to scope or focus of projects as/when necessary to maintain progress; propose methods and drafts conclusions that challenge conventional thought
- Help enforce and manage the organization’s brand identity and adhere to brand guidelines; develop materials to educate staff on communication practices
- Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations or circumstances
- Draft and publish press updates following organizational news; communicate with media outlets; perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies
- Potential budget management responsibilities
Minimum Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field such as public relations, communications, journalism or business required.
Certification / Registration / License
Work Experience: Minimum of 7 years experience required. Experience managing personnel directly or indirectly is preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Must be able to work quickly under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects at once. Excellent written and verbal skills required. Ability to set clear goals and execute projects from start to finish.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Works primarily in office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work. Position requires walking around campus and/or other facilities. Must be able to drive and have access/use of a personal vehicle. Requires reading materials, speaking clearly on the telephone, and operating computer keyboard. Occasional lifting of documents or supplies.
