Essential Functions:
- Defines new and existing team member educational needs. Presents and makes recommendations regarding course design, technology, and appropriate instructional delivery options (i.e. classroom course, e-learning, virtual conference, desk-side, etc.)
- Designs educational programs according to adult learning and instructional design best practices in alignment with the established objectives. Incorporates iterative feedback from the business department(s) for whom the education is being designed and ensures that deliverables and timelines are met. Supports e-learning development and other technology-based learning initiatives.
- Ensures all educational programs have learning objectives, accurate and complete content, and documented according to standards.
- Completes all research, writing and design instructions associated with each educational program, including learner manuals and facilitator guides for instructor-led classes. For instructor-led classes, provides comprehensive "train the trainer" sessions for all trainers who will be presenting the material, and provides trainers with explanations of updates as they arise, including new "train the trainer" sessions, as needed.
- May develop engaging and effective e-learning courses that use graphics, videos, simulations, and animations. Assists in the conversion of instructor-led training programs to virtual solutions. Maintains and updates existing e-learning courses. Integrates visual, video, and audio technology into the course development process, ensuring they are optimized for performance.
- Ensures consistency and adherence to department e-learning design standards (branding guidelines, accessibility requirements, imagery, etc.). Maintain digital files in a central and easily accessible location for editing and storage and ensures online learning catalogue is up to date.
- Observes educational programs created on a periodic basis to assess effectiveness of programs, as well as potential areas for improvement using levels 1-4 of the Kirkpatrick Model.
- Engages in professional two-way dialogue with trainers on delivery of programs, relating to the content and flow of the programs.
- Establishes periodic meetings with key departments to evaluate satisfaction with existing offerings and to explore ideas of new or enhanced training opportunities. Documents and acts on feedback provided by the departments while maintaining a positive working relationship with those departments.
- In accordance with internal department standards, may be required to maintain an up-to-date project dashboard. Consistently participates in internal team meetings
In collaboration with various functional areas, identifies team member training needs and defines instructional, learning, or performance objectives. Determines best practice educational strategies and executes these strategies by designing and maintaining training programs and materials, while applying the best use of instructional technology. Adheres to and innovates upon instructional design standards that reflect adult learning best practices
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required: N/A
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education, or other related fields
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
This position is 100% remote. The ability to work remotely from home is required.
Where limited travel is required there will be exposure to weather and road conditions.
Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
