Atrium Health Levine Children’s is seeking a visionary and collaborative physician with a strong clinical and academic foundation to serve as Division Chief, Pediatric Genetics and Metabolism. The division is currently a group of 5 physicians, 2 APPs, 8 Genetic Counselors, 2 Metabolic Dietitians and a Metabolic Nurse. Multidisciplinary care is provided for all genetic and metabolic conditions in pediatric and adult patients (except adult cancer) including congenital anomalies, genetic syndromes, inherited genetic and metabolic disorders, lysosomal storage diseases, mitochondrial disorders, neuromuscular conditions, cardiac genetic syndromes, connective tissue disorders and inherited cancer syndromes affecting children.
Ideal candidates should have the following characteristics:
- Current Board Certification in Clinical Genetics and Genomics.
- Successful track record of progressive leadership and mentorship.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and research development.
- Faculty appointments are granted through Wake Forest University School of Medicine and rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Clinical support in consult service activities and outpatient ambulatory clinics,
- Faculty development (leadership, academic and clinical)
- Education of residents and medical students.
- Educational and research opportunities with new Charlotte campus for Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
