We are currently seeking to add a Retirement Plan Consultant to our growing team. This position will be hybrid, work from home and from your nearest Cetera office in El Segundo, CA, San Diego, CA, Dallas, TX, St. Paul, MN, or Des Moines, IA.
What you need to have:
- Prior experience working within Third Party Administration
- Prior experience performing IRS/DOL compliance work associated with pension plan administration typical of a TPA Firm: 410b; 404; 401(a)(4), ADP/ACP, Contribution Calculations
- Understanding of IRS/DOL pension law and rules; and
- Knowledge of Preparation of 5500, 5500SF, 8955-SSA and other pension plan related IRS forms and schedules
What you will do:
- Preparation and review of annual reporting and use of judgement required on qualified defined contribution and/or defined benefit plans for review including:
o Review and Interpret the plan document specifications;
o Prepare optimum annual contribution allocations/outcomes;
o Review reconciled trust accounts for trustee directed accounts;
o Perform non-discrimination testing (combined plan where applicable);
o Calculate maximum benefits (415(b)) as needed;
o Prepare IRS Forms 5330, and 5500 and all applicable schedules including schedules for
audited plans;
- Communicate with client, accountant, attorney and investment advisor on plan related
issues. Develop relationships with clients to establish long-term working relationships;
- Maintain responsibility of client caseload management;
- Track data received and not received and follow up with related parties to receive data;
- Review of participant disclosures and notifications;
Compensation:
The base annual salary range for this role is $85,000 to $95,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
