What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Financial Analyst position at Candidate Experience site?
Cetera Financial Group (CFG) is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who will be responsible for supporting Cetera’s Financial Planning & Analysis function, which broadly encompasses budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and ad-hoc financial analysis. In this capacity, he/she will partner closely with various Business Unit leaders, Shared Service FP&A, Subsidiary Finance, and HR team members in a key role to develop and provide expert insight into the planning, forecasting, tracking, analysis, and reporting of operating expenses, human capital, and compensation for the assigned business segments or the enterprise as a whole.
What you will do:
- Develop/maintain complex financial models as part of the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes (workforce planning and compensation, variable and incentive compensation, flash reporting, and dashboards detailing and analyzing staff and non-staff operating expenses).
- Partner and interact with various Business Units, as well as HR, and Finance business partners to facilitate and support expense, headcount, and compensation-related planning, forecasting, reporting, analytics, and variance analysis.
- Present monthly performance and ad-hoc analysis to Senior Management and Executive Leadership.
- Contribute to the preparation of management reports and executive presentations by tracking and assessing the firm-wide staff-related spending through detailed understanding and analysis of compensation expense items including salaries, taxes, benefits, incentive compensation, and recruiting-related expenses.
- Work closely with Shared Service Finance leadership and other finance team members to improve various current human capital management processes (workforce planning, position management, hiring governance, monthly reporting, etc.) through simplification, enhancements, and/or automation.
- Routinely work with various aspects of the business to design and implement framework and modeling for calculating the variable compensation paid to employees within recruiting, advisory sales, retirement planning, etc., and work with accounting to ensure variable compensation is properly accrued for.
- Leverage technology (Oracle, Tableau) to build out expense dashboarding (monthly/quarterly), maintain key metric databases within applicable systems, and assist with the implementation of new tools and systems.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues across business units/ departments to foster an effective cross-functional working environment and collaborative spirit.
What you need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree (finance or economics preferred, but not required), MBA a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in FP&A, finance, or business analysis role.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, corporate finance, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in the use of business applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong financial modeling and analysis skills.
- Ability to synthesize, analyze, and identify trends and patterns in complex data sets.
- Experience with financial reporting and general ledger applications (Oracle ERP/PBCS/HCM tools, Hyperion or similar).
