Supervisor - Atrium Health Core Lab - Evenings

Job Summary

Supervises the section and instructs personnel working in the section. Assures that that section objectives are accomplished effectively, efficiently, and economically.

Essential Functions

• Manages implementation and maintenance of quality, efficiency, and safety in the section by meeting all accreditation standards (CAP, TJC, etc,) on a continual basis.
• Reviews, writes, and evaluates policies and procedures for area. Suggests improvements and introduces new methodologies as needed.
• Conducts orientation and training with required documentation.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of all necessary laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Supervises, schedules and evaluates the workload for assigned section.

Physical Requirements

Works in a fast-paced clinical environment. Works in an area which contains biohazardous (infectious) materials along with chemical, fire, and mechanical hazards. Duties may involve standing, walking, stretching, stooping, bending and lifting light (20 pound) to moderately heavy (50 pound) loads.

Education, Experience and Certifications

High School Diploma or GED required. Two years of experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
