Job Definition

All Candle-lite maintenance positions have a steadfast number one priority to maintain product quality, production equipment, production standards and to keep production downtime to a minimum. Trouble shoots and repairs all automated equipment. Performs equipment failure analysis, repairs and preventative maintenance. Learns and maintains proficiency on applicable software formats. Provides assistance to engineering personnel as needed. Writes and updates manuals and programs for automated equipment. May interact with outside vendors regarding new equipment installations and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or GED and a valid state driver's license; the Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics; basic understanding of ladder and relay logic; working knowledge of DOS and Windows applications; ability to design and build control circuits; analyze AC/DC circuits; electrical and electronic circuits; working knowledge of multimeter and logic probe; experience with several type of electronic sensors; good working knowledge of hand and power tools; good mechanical aptitude, some mechanical maintenance required as part of the position; the ability to work from manuals, prints, drawings, sketches and written/verbal instructions; the position comprehension of schematics (electrical/ electronic), blueprints (mechanical, piping, hydraulic and facilities) and general layout drawings; good working knowledge of conduit construction and sizing/pulling wire in conduit is also necessary.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and/or electronic equipment and systems to include, but not limited to PLCs, controllers, electrical control cabinets (design, build, and repair); write and/or modify programming in electronic equipment as needed; perform other mechanical or electrical maintenance tasks as needed. Must have the ability to read blueprints; basic understanding of ladder and relay logic; working knowledge of DOS and Windows computer applications; ability to design and build control circuits; working knowledge of use of multimeter and logic probe, electronic and/or electrical (AC/DC) circuits, layout programming sequence for machine operation from start to finish; and knowledge of electronic sensors. Must pass the Electronic Technician Assessment and the Maintenance Mechanic Assessments.

Physical Activity and Demands

Standing and/or walking 90%; sitting 10%. It will be expected for the individual to be able to climb over/under equipment and machinery to gain access for maintenance. It will also be necessary to be able to climb access stairs and ladders to the top of Prill Towers, storage tanks, plant roof, and elevated maintenance platforms to perform maintenance

and inspections. Some heavy lifting will be required in accordance with power tools, equipment and machinery parts. Some working conditions will be in confined and cramped areas. Frequent visual acuity is required for reading gauges, monitoring/test equipment, blueprints, electrical schematics, charts, etc. Must be able to stand on a concrete floor for the entire shift; to lift 30 pounds without assistance and 75 pounds with assistance; have precise coordinated movements of the fingers of both hands to grasp and manipulate small objects; make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists; have the ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist; be able to reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs; have the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
